About me.
|
Welcome to my
place on the web. My name is Terry and when I started this site in
Oct of 2000. It was originally intended to be dedicated to the
Memory of my beloved "Button's" and show case my new best
friend/show dog "Roxy".
Let me start
off by saying that Bay Brook is not a kennel at this time. So,
please do not contact me for adults or pups. I will leave that in
the hands of those with far more experience. I do however intend
to use Bay Brook as our kennel name when the right time comes.
"Bay Brook" holds a sentimental place in my heart as it is the
name used by my grandparents for their Quarter Horse Farm and Tack
Shop.
For now, the
name Bay Brook is used for my personal web site, that your viewing
now and Web Design site as I am currently specializing in, but not
limited to, canine related websites. For more information on my
web design & my portfolio please visit my
design

The Horses
|
I've always
had a love of animals. It all started over 30 years ago. I lived
with my Mom, on my grandparent's Quarter Horse Farm in Berkley,
Massachusetts. I even had my own pony, a Paint, called "Donna".
While my mother just rode western for the pleasure of it, my Aunt
Dottie and a few of her friends entered in Quarter Horse Shows.
For a while I was entered in a few 4H shows. In 1998, I attempted
to return to western riding as a hobby after a 20 year absence! I
rode again for about 5 short and wonderful months, but it just
wasn't to be. I had been unwillingly involved in 2 car accidents a
year apart in 1996 & 1997, caused by two inconsiderate drivers. I
was left with back problems. Due to the jarring and punishment
riding can place on one's back, the joy of riding was to be dashed
again. It was a sad day when my chiropractor told me I had to give
riding up once more. |

The Australian Shepherds
|
In 1980 I got
my first show dog, Silver City's Buttons & Bows, when I was ten.
She was a beautiful Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. "Buttons" was
bred by Brenda Dean of Silver City Aussies, who at the time lived
in East Taunton, MA. By 1982 my aunt and her friends once again
spirited me towards a show ring. I showed Buttons in Confirmation
Class in the New England Area .
1980-1988 Buttons was a great friend & is still
missed tremendously.....

I am a former member of the Australian Shepherd Club Of New

The
Akita

|
In 1995 I
started thinking about what type of family companion we would get.
I wanted another Aussie, but was talked out of it by my now
ex-husband. So I decided to start looking at other breeds.
After 5 yrs. of research & obtaining a house, the breed I kept
coming back to was the Akita. In 1999, I started looking for our
Akita. And in 2000, Imperial's It's A Rocky Road, "Roxy", came
home. For more info visit her page.
Since 2008, I have participated annually in raising funds for the

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! -
Animals deserve
to have a forever home. Make sure you fully research and understand
the type of animal you want to bring into your life. The animal you
bring home should mesh with your life style. In other words don't
bring home a greyhound if you, yourself are a couch potato! You'll
save yourself a lot of head aches.
STOP PUPPY MILLS!!! -
Animals are not a
throw away commodity and shouldn't be treated as such. Think of all
the millions of cats and dogs in shelters and on death row, before you
make an impulse buy at the local pet store or back yard breeder! Help
put a stop to Puppy Mills, buy your next dog from a Hobby breeder. Or
give a second chance to a shelter/rescue dog. You wouldn't believe the
number of pure breeds that are homeless.
